End of first week on site

Today I completed my first week on site. It was a nice dry and sunny day although a tad cold in the morning. Didn't help I had paper work to fill in. The joys of field work that is destructive I guess!! The skeleton was lifted this morning and the bones were more fragile than expected but they are all up in the least amount of pieces as possible. This was one was in a rather interesting position as the left arm was flexed across the chest and the other was above the pelvis. This did make it more difficult to excavate but I got there after 4 days!!!!
The bones next to the grave were just random ones. It looked like someone came across the bones didn't want them so scattered them everywhere.
Now I am on to another burial so I will see what this one is like. So far I've found a foot and a hand, hopefully there is more!
This weekend will consist of catching up on sleep and hopefully seeing some of the sites of Belgium!!!
