Gent

Today I braved the Belgian trains and went to Gent on my own. When I got there it was pissing down with rain. However, I did not let that stop me exploring the stad. I got to the station and did the 2500m walk to the centre (in the rain) and found the tourist information. When I got there I asked for a plan of the city and the guy serving me also gave me a walking tour plan as well. I asked for the street plan in english but the guy wanted to give me the tour sheet in Spanish! Not sure why but I asked for it in English. I went to St Bavo's Cathedral and also into the castle. I followed the walking tour and saw lots of amazing sites. However, I did come back with soaking wet feet and had to change my socks! Hopefully shoes will be dry for tomorrow.
Tomorrow I am off to Antwerpen going by train again so should be interesting. I will put photos up of today and tomorrow at some point, possibly tomorrow!
