Today was rather a chilly start to my third week in Belgium. It was about +5 when I left for work this morning and it certainly felt cold. When I eventually got to site everyone was shivering away as it was not that much warmer than when I left. There is a stupid tower belonging to the catherdral in the way of the nice warm sun to warm us up. Surely they don't need that tower!!!!
I finally finished by the drain, when I turned up to site one of the other volunteers was cleaning my skeleton, thankfully before she got into it I could tell her what I had done and give her the correct paperwork. I carried on with the one underneath the second one. This third one had all its legs but only one foot bone! At least I'm slowly working up the amount of legs I excavate! Once that was done, I worked through teabreak as the digger was sat there waiting for a few of us to finish off the skeleton which had been started last week. We got there.
I then helped out our canadian volunteer on site to plan her grave onto the site plan and take levels of the skeletons she had lifted (there are 5 in the grave). Once all that was done I found a juvenile burial. Guess what this skeleton is missing! LEGS! I seem to have the knack of locating skeletons without legs. Maybe a PhD in it? :p I got as far as cleaning it so tomorrow is all the recording and paperwork, in the chilly morning brrr.
The weekend was slightly different too. I went to help out at a Girl Guide UK day. This was with the Brussels and Waterloo district. It was good fun and I enjoyed the day but think I will stick to the dark side of scouting. Sunday I went on the weekly outing to the British store and then the rest of the day was spent resting as we all had a busy day on Saturday in one way or another.
