Final week on site day 3

Today was much warmer on site, although I am still in loads of layers!!! The buses today were reasonably on time which meant I was at site by 8:15!!!! I finished my skeleton off this morning and cleaned out the bottom of the grave. There was great excitement amongst the archaeologists on site as I had reached the natural soil. This showed that the end is coming. They have been on this site since 3/11/09!!! I then moved onto another grave which only contained a skull but I another grave cutting through it but could not excavate it as there is still more soil covering the outline. I started to clear more but it carries on for ages so I was moved to another area so I could find an actual skeleton! The new area I chose was pointless as all I was doing was trowelling through loose soil so I moved to another. This one did contain a skeleon...well more like 5 bones of a skeleton which was mushed up again but the coffin outline could be seen above the natural soil :D :D
Because it was Ben (a paid archaeologist on site) last day, we finished early so we could all say proper good byes. This meant I had to leave my skeleton in the ground until tomorrow.
You will be pleased to know I did not have a waffel today! However, because it was Ben's last day he brought in pastries which were yummy and was Sabbah's last full day he brought in a fruit tart for us all to share. So tea break today was filled with cakes. At lunch I got tomato and vegetable soup (I think, that was the translation!) and then we had chocolate and sweets as well.
Kevin is also leaving tomorrow midday (from what I can gather) so all 3 got chocolates and champagne which then Kevin had to open at the end of the day and everyone had to have a bit. It tasted good, but was strange drinking it out of a plastic cup on an archaeological site, but hey this is Beglium. Due to the amount of us there was, we all had about a mouth full each.

Waffel Count: Today:0 Total:19
